The aim of the Government led Warm Zone is to concentrate resources in combating fuel poverty and increasing energy efficiency. In North Staffordshire, through this integrated approach, we are aiming to:
- Significantly reduce fuel poverty in the zone
- Contribute towards the energy efficiency targets of the area through reduced carbon emissions
- Reduce winter related deaths
- Increase energy efficiency awareness in the Zone
We have to date acheived the following:
- Over 95,000 energy assessments completed
- Over 19,000 insulation measures installed
- Lifetime savings of over 400,000 tonnes of Co2
- 11,000 homes have used our free benefits advice service helping local people receive over £4.4m in unclaimed benefits
- Over 230,000 energy efficient light bulbs sent
- Over 22,000 homes have received a fire safety check and smoke detector
