Targets and Achievements
The aim of the Government led Warm Zone is to concentrate resources in combating fuel poverty and increasing energy efficiency.

In North Staffordshire, through this integrated approach, we are aiming to:

  • Significantly reduce fuel poverty in the zone in two years
  • Create local jobs by training and finding sustainable employment
  • Contribute towards the energy efficiency targets of the area through reduced carbon emissions
  • Reduce winter related deaths
  • Increase energy efficiency awareness in the Zone
  • Help North Staffordshire's affordable Warmth Strategy
We have to date acheived the following:

  • 56,420 homes have been assessed
  • 9,200 homes have been surveyed
  • 6,650 homes have received insulation measures
  • 172,150 low energy light bulbs have been distributed
  • 11,920 homes have received a fire safety check
  • 3,130 homes have been referred to Warm Front for possible grants towards central heating systems
  • 6,740 homes have used our free benefits advice service helping local people receive over £1,140,000 in unclaimed benefits
